SUMMARY

I am an experienced Hands-on Manager and Lead Technical Specialist for Network Operations Centers (NOC) and Operations.  I have strong skills in LAN/WAN troubleshooting as well as Windows, Unix and Linux Servers.  I work with automated alerting tools on a daily basis.  I also have experience with many other tools and software (Service Now, Solarwinds SCOM, VCenter, Cisco UCS, xMatters and many others).

PML Manager of NOC/TOC/Lead technical expert (SME) for NOC

  • Manager of KPMG’s weekend Network/Technology Operations Center.
  • Manage a team of onshore (6) and offshore (9) personnel in day to day operations as well as team and individual development.
  • Provide 1st level network troubleshooting for Cisco and other network devices.
  • Provide 1st through 3rd level troubleshooting for Windows servers (2012 and Windows 10 server) as well as KPMG unique applications on those servers.
  • Managed and directed NOC procedures and created and developed documentation for those associates.

Lead Technical Specialist/Automations Engineer/Manager of NOC and Operations

  • Manager of remaining Network Operations Center functionalities/members after dissolving the department to related IS departments as well as operations
  • Manager/lead technician for all monitoring and alerting systems for Cisco network devices as well as Windows, Linux and other servers and devices.

  • Unified cross-training initiatives within operations as well as other areas of IT in order to better prepare the entire IT organization for change.
  • Worked with development team to create internally created web based automated alerting tools and scripts for all enterprise servers and network equipment and connections.
  • Consolidated all Network Operations Center activities into related departments and automated all monitoring efforts for substantial cost savings.
  • Project lead for creation and implantation of in house built CMDB
  • Implemented numerous automated systems in order to facilitate a “hands off” network and systems monitoring/alerting using Nagios, BMC portal, TIVMON, PEM, xMatters (formerly Alarmpoint) and HP Service Center.
  • Automated batch services through the use of Control-M (6.4).
  • Consolidated all network/system monitoring to only 2 tools (PEM and Nagios).
  • Project manager for TSM tape library upgrade from 3590 library to a 3598 library, as well as upgrade of the TSM server from 5.3 to 5.4.
  • Documentation coordinator for disaster recovery planning and disaster recovery testing as well as team lead/manager for automations disaster recovery testing.

 

Network Operations Center Manager           1999 to 2006

 

  • Managed a group of 6 network analysts.
  • Provided Cisco Software systems planning, consultation, support, hardware/software installations and upgrades for over 30 remote offices and 800 stores in US and Canada.
  • Provided company-wide support for Frame Relay, ISDN, T1, fractional T1, DS3, and Satellite communications.
  • Provided support for Nortel based VOIP phone system.
  • Worked with network engineers to implement new solutions to continuously upgrade and expand our existing network.

Key Projects and Accomplishments:

  • Implemented frame relay in over 500 remote locations in order to facilitate faster WAN connectivity, thus allowing new network-based applications.
  • Completed numerous T1 and frame relay upgrades for remote offices.
  • Created documentation for Network Operations team to properly troubleshoot all newly implemented technology.
  • Created and maintained network monitoring solutions through the use of HP Openview and Concord Network maintenance software.

Help Desk Analyst                                                 1997 to 1999

  • Provided support for 800 A&P stores and over 500 corporate employees.
  • Supported proprietary software (example: CICS, Racal Datacom Remote terminal, and PES Virtual Operator Console) and hardware (example: IBM 2210 routers, Hughes-based satellite systems, and Vina Technologies T1 integrators).
